One LONGGGGG post!

We had a good Christmas this year. We didn't go to my parents house like we usually do because Johnny hasn't had a Christmas with his family in over 5 years! So I gave him a turn! We stayed at our house and Johnny's Mom slept over. Arbor was really excited for his stocking and then once he opened his first present he just wanted to play with that and nothing else! Johnny was really good to me this year! I got a Zune and the whole collection of Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath and Body Works! He spoils me! We got Arbor so many toys! His favorite is his Fisher Price Little People Farm Set. He plays with that all day long! And his Nana got him a Power Wheels! He is one spoiled kid! I got Johnny some wireless head phones and his World Of Warcraft game! ( He got me World of Warcraft too.. I just don't share it cause it means I am a nerd!) After getting dressed I started cooking! The whole cooking on Christmas in new to me because my Mommy always cooked on Christmas! I decided to just make snack foods.. Nothing to fancy. We made a turkey and some rolls and then a veggie tray, spinach dip, stuffed mushrooms and a salad. My sister in law and her family were supposed to some to my house but it was raining really bad that day and they decided not to come. Well after talking about it we decided to brave the weather and drive to Cedar City to see them. So we took all the food to her house. I am really glad we did. It's always nice to see family on Christmas.
So our Christmas day turned out awesome even though I missed my family like CRAZY!

In other news I have made some New Years resolutions that I am determined to keep! I am going to start saving money. I am horrible with money! I spend it like it grows on trees!

My biggest one though is that I am going to lose 150 lbs! I know I can do it! And I know it won't be easy due to the PCOS but I have to do it. Arbor needs a better example. So starting January 1st Johnny and I will no longer drink soda and no longer eat sugar! It will be tough but I think if we can just do it for a month it won't be so hard after that.
I also moved my Treadmill to the front room when I will walk a half hour in the morning and a half hour at night. I put it up front because I will use it there!
So by May I want to at least look decent in a swimming suit. And then by this time next year I want to be half of me! When I lose the weight I am going to get a boob job! I want to keep them in the D Cup range and have them lifted! And Johnny also promised to take me on a cruise if I get to my goal weight.
I am really looking forward to losing the weight and changing my life style. 2009 is going to be completly different for me and I can't wait!

Now for some pictures! The first one is Arbor in his Ball pit! We got him the ball pit awhile ago but it only came with like 10 balls so Santa brought him some more. Like 200 more! Only 100 would fit in his pit though. He loves it!

The next one is Arbor sitting on the presents on Christmas Eve! Funny baby!
And the last one is of me, lookin' sexy of course, with my Zune!

We had a great Holiday and hope everyone else did too!
I will keep you updated on my weight loss!

Let it snow!

It has been snowing all day today! I love it! And Arbor loves it too! This is the first time he has been old enough to see the snow! It snowed last year but he was only 4 months old! He loves it! He picks it up and says "yummy"! It's pretty funny. I just can't believe it is snowing! It really makes it feel like the holidays!

It is SO cold!

So the wind here has been TERRIBLE! And it always blows crap into my front porch/entry way... It's really annoying. I guess that's why they call this place Hurricane! So today I decided that I was going to go out and sweep it and hang up some lights. It needed it. I still had a couple of pumpkins out there! So I started sweeping but it's still windy so I was getting nowhere! I swept up what I could and then hung up my lights. It looks WAY better! You can actually see my Welcome mat! Arbor was out there with me even though it was wicked cold. I just bundled him up and he went running aorund. The cold didn't even phase him! We put on his new mittens and his new beanie. He loved the mittens! It was pretty cute. So this is what he looked like after we came in. He didn't want to come in but it was just too cold to play outside! So there ya have it.. a post about wind and me sweeping! Exciting huh!? I just wanted an excuse to put up these pictures of Arbor in his mittens!

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree...

So we finally got our Christmas tree up! We bought a fake one because Johnny didn't want to scratch up the Scion by tying a tree to the top of it! I love it though! And Arbor loves it too! We put the bulbs only on the top half because of Mr. Grabby Hands! But just in case we got the shatter proof bulbs.. Now we just need some presents to put under it!
I also put up my Umberger blocks my sisters made for me Thanksgiving weekend! Thank you ladies! I love them! And they look so cute! I also put up some of our family pictures around my TV! My house looks so cozy now! Ha ha
And lastly I couldn't put a post up without pictures of my lovey! Arbor loves to sit on his dump truck and watch cartoons! He is so funny! OH funny story... The other day I was in my computer room working on my Giving Tree Ornaments (Which I did for my ward) and Arbor walked in with his shoes. He has learned to say shoes but it sounds more like shoeses.. it's cute.. he brings his shoes to me and says "shoeses" and I had no idea why he wanted them on but I put them on him anyways... Well a few minutes later it was quiet but I could hear kids outside playing so I went to see what Arbor was up to. It turns out Johnny had gone outside to talk to the neighbors and hadn't closed the door all the way and Arbor had been able to get the door open and wanted to go outside but not without his shoeses! He is so clever! He is only 1 and I don't have to tell him to put his shoes on before he goes outside! I love that kid!
So yeah.. All is good.. And Thanksgiving was AWESOME with my WHOLE family! I wanted to steal my twin nieces... They are adorable!

PS the last picture is of the ornaments I made for the giving tree for church... I made it in Photoshop and printed it up on glossy paper!

Some cute pics!

The weather has been so nice lately so Star and I like to take Arbor outside and play for a bit... Today I took some pictures of him sitting on a rock just outside my house. They are so cute! He has got some pretty blue eyes! Yeah also notice his shoes! I let him pick them out and he loves them! He wears them everywhere we go!
I had to add the last one because of his cute little goofy face.. He was talking to me when I took it and I love the face he is making!

Craft Time!

Starlee and I did some crafts today! We were at the craft store for an hour and decided to make these! Star did her own but these ones are the ones I did. I am really happy with how they turned out! I think I might make more for Arbor and my nephew and nieces and then others for my kitchen and such! What do you think?

5 Years!

Johnny and I have been married for 5 years today! I am so happy! These past 5 years have been the hardest but the best years of my life! I love him so much and I look forward to many many more years with him and hope to one day be sealed to him for eternity even though eternity just doesn't seem long enough!

Fun at the park!

My little Dragon!

This Halloween Arbor went as a Dragon! He looked so cute! He loved his costume and didn't mind wearing it at all! We had to say "hat hat hat" to get him to wear his head piece though! The Hat game is something my dad does with his grandbabies, he puts the baby on his head and walks around saying "hat hat hat".. Arbor loves it! We only went Trick or Treating to Grandma and Grandpa Allen's because he doesn't understand Halloween yet. We decided to give out full size canday bars because we weren't expecting too many Trick or Treaters. We got around 10! I actually ended up letting the kids take 2 each! I had way too much candy! It was a fun Halloween. I can't wait until next year when Arbor will understand it a little more!

Arbor's First Haircut!

So I decided Arbor needed a little trim because it was just getting too long in the back! I kinda messed up on one side but I think it looks pretty cute...

New Family Pics!

We recently went to Orem for my Nieces blessings and for some family pictures! They all turned out so good! Arbor is so photogenic and such a poser! We didn't get an all of the family picture because it was just too cold for the twins! But hopefully we will get one soon!
You can see Arbors cute pics on his totsite. So go take a look and sign the guestbook too!

A little bit of venting...

So about 1 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. For info on what it is feel free to go here: http://women.webmd.com/tc/polycystic-ovary-syndrome-pcos-topic-overview
It's been really hard but lately I am getting a little overwhelmed with it. My skin is terrible, my moods are crazy, I have no energy and my weight is out of control and I have really embarrassing facial hair. I feel like I am going to lose my mind some days..
I have tried to lose the weight but I always give up when I don't see results. I have no will power.
I think what bothers me most is that I feel like it keeps me from being a good mom. Arbor sits inside all day long and watches TV or just walks around the house. We rarely go outside because I just don't have the energy and I am embarrassed about my weight. I don't feed him very well either. He eats Mac and Cheese most days for Lunch and dinner and drinks alot of milk. It just breaks my heart that he has to live this way all because of me. I want to change so bad but I don't think it will ever happen.
I also feel like people don't understand what it's like living with this. I feel like it has destroyed my life but other people don't see it as being serious.
I get to go to the Dr. next month and start getting treatment for it and I hope it helps. PCOS is not curable but it is treatable. I really want to get healthy. I want to get healthy for Arbor and Johnny and for myself.
Well.. I feel a little better now that I vented a little... :)

New things!

Soo not much is new just a few fun little things.. Arbor is running around like the crazy little baby he is! I love to just sit and watch him play. He has started to pick up my cell phone and put it on the back of his head and say "Hi". It's adorable! He also likes to comb his own hair! He is getting so big!

We also got a new mattress! We bought our old mattress almost 5 years ago for 300 bucks.. It was in pretty bad shape. I love my new one. I sink into and sleep really good now! We also got new Bed Set. It's really pretty and I love it!

I finally got glasses. I am near sighted so driving and watching t.v. wasn't really fun because I had to squint to see! But I like them. I can finally see the speed limit signs! Ha ha good thing!

Arbor's First Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is 1! Well he won't be one until the 29th but we had his birthday party today. I never thought this day would come! It was kind of a hard day for me. I just don't seem to get along very good with Johnny's family and I have a hard time being around them and they were over here all day long.. But Arbor was so excited for all of his presents and his cake. I made the Mickey Mouse cake for him and gave him an ear to eat. He dug into it! He got lot's of cool toys but was really excited for the play Lap Top his daddy got him.

I can't belive my baby is 1!

Cake!

So I recently decided that I was going to start decorating cakes. I decided to start practicing with Arbor's birthday cake. He loves Mickey Mouse so that's what I made. I have never decorated cakes before and I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I even gave up on the first night I started it because I couldn't get his face color right! Well after some thought I told myself I just needed to finish it cause practice makes perfect. So I finished today and I am really happy I did because I am pretty proud of the outcome! This is just a practice for Arbor's birthday cake, the next one I will do will hopefully turn out a little better! Next I am going to start experimenting with Fondant! I hope to get good enough to go on one of those Food Network Challenge cake shows!

Remembering 9/11

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news

On September 11, 2001. Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.'

I held his fingers steady as he dialed.

I gave him the peace to say,
'
Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children.

I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home
that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help.
'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls.

I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer.

I was with the crew as they were overtaken.
I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .

I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.

Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face.

I knew every name - though not all know Me.

Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor..

Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... This way... Take my hand.'

Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day.

You may not know why, but I do.

However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you.

But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well.

Seek Me now while I may be found.

Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Denver Colorado

We went to Denver for Labor day this past weekend. Johnny's brother lives there. He and his wife just had their second baby so we went to go see her! It was a 9 and 1/2 hour drive! We left at 7 pm on Friday and finally made it to our Hotel in Denver around 5 am! It was a long drive! Arbor was so good! We bought a dvd player that could be hooked up to the back of the head rest so he could watch his cartoons. It worked out so good! He didn't cry at all! He tried to sleep but the poor guy was so uncomfortable. When I finaly got him to sleep in the hotel it was around 6:30 am. He only slept until 10:30 am! He was so tired all day long! He did sleep a good 10 hours the next day though! On Sunday we went to the Denver Zoo. When we got there it was raining so the animals all went in. We did get to see some Monkies, Elephants, Giraffees and lots of birds. Arbor loved it!

He also had a good time playing with his cousin Alexis, who is almost 2. Alexis loved to give Arbor hugs and kisses and even tried to ride on his back a few times! They had alot of fun together. Arbor got a little jealous when I would hold 4 month old Anya. He would try to climb on my lap and say no no no! He didn't want to share his mommy!

It was so good to see Johnny's brother Zane and his wife Shannon. We don't get to see them much. It was also good to get away but I am so glad to be home now!

Arbor John

I had to blog about my baby! He is getting so big! He will be 1 next month and I can't believe it!

Arbor has always been a good baby. He is so laid back and hardly ever cries. He is always happy and so patient! He has started doing big boy things lately! Like drink from a Sippy Cup and eat solids. He loves Mac and Cheese! He stands up on his own now and does it all the time. He stand up and claps! It's so funny!

Everyone else was doing it...

Soooo I decided that I would stop fighting the urge and make a blog too! I think my biggest problem with blogging is that I don't know what to say! So I will just do an Our Life So far thing...
Johnny and I will be married for 5 years on November 8th! I can't believe it has been that long! I am crazy for him though! In that 5 years we have gone through alot. We moved quit a bit, Johnny lost his dad, I went to Le Cordon Bleu Culinary school for a whole 3 months and we had a baby! Arbor graced us with his presence on Sept 29th 2007. I love his little guts! It's almost been a year I still look at him everyday and think wow, he really is a miracle! I can't believe how blessed we are to have such an amazing baby.
Johnny is a Computer Programmer. He is so amazing! He works for a company in St. George but gets to work from home. They love him though. They love him so much that when he was offered another job in American Fork they decided to offer him more money and to pay for our insurance. It was too hard to pass up so we will stay here in Southern Utah. When he isn't working (which doesn't happen much) he likes to drive his remote control truck around outside or wrestle with Arbor. He is such a good daddy and husband.
I am a full time mommy of a very busy little boy. Thanks to Johnny I get to stay home and take care of him and Arbor. I love every minute of it.
That is pretty much the Umbergers in a nut shell up to this point.
